i’m a list person. i love make random ridiculous lists that i even have listography books and random sheets of lists that magically appear when i least expect them, and reading them are always fun. insight into what i thought during those moments. i should really buy a filing cabinet or something. lol. (joking, ah.)
food that makes me go “omg, kekekeke.” and munch away happily. no one disturb me please! unless the noises you make are in harmony with mine. haha.
in no particular order:
- mini/homemade pork + chive dumplings - so good! its the sauce, so good with different sauces!
- skewers - especially the ones at the “indonesian restaurant” in hong kong, and izakayas in japan.
- dad’s oatmeal cookies - …and NO not my own dad. it’s a weird brand that makes oatmeal cookies
- unagi donburi (鰻丼/roasted eel on rice) - haha. hitsumabushi/ひつまぶし! :p
- soon du bu jjigae (순두부찌개/tofu stew) / kamjatang (감자탕/pork bone soup) - yumyumyum! what can i say.
- tofu - actually i like anything tofu. tofu dessert. mabo tofu.
- dakgalbi (닭갈비) - oh so good with ramyeon! oh-boy. k-style ramyeon.
- hakata tonkotsu ramen!! (博多豚骨ラーメン) - i cannot stress this enough. nothing, and i mean nothing tastes the same as real authentic eaten in japan pork bone ramen. i used to dislike ramen cause well it just sucked. it was just noodles in soup and i thought what’s the big deal. but oh boy. till you eat real tonkotsu ramen. and real chirashi rice. i can never eat japanese food quite the same again anywhere else except when i am in japan. real chirashi rice at tsukiji fish market. now i can easily make another list of places in the world that make me happy.
- sandwiches - this one is easy enough. a nice subway assorted cold cut with a tad of honey mustard and tad of ranch on honey oat. yep, my regular and so good. i love sandwiches.
- black bean pork ribs with bitter melon rice (凉瓜排骨飯) - sounds unpleasant but its not bitter and its actually really good (providing it is made well) and at my old work place i converted most my co-workers into liking this dish. if anything i’m known as the girl that likes black bean pork ribs with bitter melon on rice. haha.
- stir fried tomatoes and eggs (蕃茄炒蛋) - it’s a really simple dish but hardly ever made well. i’m really picky with my tomatoes and how my eggs are done. i think it won a special place in my ranking probably from those first year university days when we all used to cook together, and boy were those some real tasty tomatoes with egg. ever person makes this dish so different.
- glico collon - i’m not big on snacks, but i love collon. all the numerous flavours that they have, and i love sticking them in the freezer, tastes like ice cream wafers, yum! pictures here. so far my fav is green tea and pudding flavour (which i’ve only found in japan). there is even egg tart flavour! hehe.
- waffles - especially the big thick ones. so good with anything. ice cream, cereal, yoghurt, fruits, syrup, honey. any combo or just plan waffles, so good.
- tempura banana - i’m not a fan of banana unless its with some pastry thing, and a nice hot tempura banana is my fav! so good. yum.
- patbingsu (팥빙수) - shaved ice with red beans, ice cream, fruits, cereal, anything. so good. :D // but i don’t find kakigori, j-style shaved ice with coloured syrup, appealing at all. meh.
haha, yeah lots of food makes me grin like an idiot eating it, and i bet there are more. super so good!
